Iridescent Hyperflight Sample / May 13, 2008 / 9:30 am

The all patent all-the-time Nike Hyperflight became forever iconic while being worn by Jason “White Chocolate” Williams during the earlier part of the decade. JWill, with his unshakable bravado and Mike Thorton-esque boogie, rocked a pair in a deliciously dark shade of patent purple during his time with the Sacramento Kings.

Pictured above is a pair of Iridescent look-see samples, which change color depending on the angle you look at them from. Unfortunately, I believe they’re only a size 9; otherwise my good friend Nick at Sole Collector would be busting heads with these. And even if you’re not a fan of the colorway conceptually, you certainly have to wonder—what else do they have locked away in Beaverton?

i remember when nike brought the ‘freestyle’ commercial crew out to taipai, taiwan, back in ‘01-’02, they hooked us all with the hyperflight. wasn’t too crazy about playin’ in them. they were dumb light which was cool, but i remember the lateral and ankle support being kind of ‘eh.’ i’m imagining the color they’re presenting above is not for on court, though, and for lifestyle. i think i’d be pretty mad if i had go guard someone with those on!

lol those used to be my babys in black, the most lightest shoe nike ever made, bobs right about the ankle support though, but those were real comfortable when u played indoors with them

    Actually — they ARE a size 13.

But the location of only the right shoe is known (and pictured). Of course.

Once that pair is matched up…I’m definitely gonna try and snatch em up somehow.

that’s pretty sick, they would definitely be a cool shoe to wear if you’d want to get people’s attention
