A few months ago, I mentioned Cons would be taking a more true-to-form approach with their upcoming retros. To be completely honest, I’m not huge on many of the refabricated gaudy collaborations of today, but take a look at these Pro Leathers. The outsole, upper quality and lacing all look like someone could’ve copped these at Carlsen Imports back in the day, and time warped themselves thirty-two years into the future for the buttery exclusive!

I feel a little awkward rocking anything that comes into the here and now that originated before I was born (like these)… But I’ve been patiently waiting for the official Dr. Js (red on white, even green on white) to drop so I can make my Uncles Cry! when they’d see them on my feet. I’d love more to hit ‘em each off with a pair to bring’em back to the playground and childhood glory…I have this one older friend Sam from texas who I really think would cry if I did (He took me to the Nike and Converse Outlets in Austin when I was out there round christmas this year, ditto Jerm’ on being able to snap up a pair of AF25s for a super sweet sale price, but he wouldn’t stop going on about ballin’ in his All Stars trying to be like Julius when we went through the shelves at converse). Word up that the lows are hellafied proper for the dungareeboogie…I’ll have to check the annals of WYGT? to see if there’s a footnote in there on if these hit a nerve with anyone but ballers back then…they had to. Haven’t really been through the usual haunts lately but the spidey sense hasn’t been piqued to where I’ve noticed them anywhere I’ve visited this month (from boutique to department store)…

are these out?! i didnt see them on the converse site.
I balled in the dr J’s in 8th grade. first time my mom let me buy leather sneakers. think I paid under 40 bucks for them and made them extra nice with some red laces if I recall correctly. The Globetrotters used to all wear Dr. J’s too. that shoe was the pinnacle at the start of the 80’s

josh-
absolutely heads rocked these off court back in the day. in my book, there is a butter flick of rock steady crew’s ken swift doing footwork in dr. j lows. plenty of hardrocks used to wear them with the lee hard denim, too. a classic, but forgotten, hopefully not moving forward though.
