Everybody know Joe a boss when it come to the sneaker game. With his patent licking the bottom of his kicks cuz they so fresh. Joe seem like a cool dude, i have had the oppurtunity to see him a few times in person, and he just seem like a real chill laid back dude. Yo bob, you know everybody man. Im trying to be like you. Yo bob, who the coolest celeb you met? and also out of the people you know, who got the craziest sneker collection?, besides you.
Bob - I think this is great you’re doing this because there were more than a few eps I missed because of the illy times this show came on over the course of the day. True story when I saw this episode I “put in my two weeks” for retirement and downgraded from “collector” to just a cat who loves kicks. Joe shut it down. Supposedly Clark Kent can go line for line with Joe with this but I specifically remember just going “Damn” when this ep dropped.
PS - I ran that sneaker licking thing [II] when I was showing this shorty my sneaker closet. Didn’t go over well. LOL.
haha! drew, you crazy! i really appealed to joe to put the lick friendly whole thing to rest. but to each his own!
jon-
i don’t even consider myself a collector, and have no where near the collection as a joe or clark kent have. as for coolest celeb, man, i’ve met so many it’d be tough to say. but i’d have to say stevie wonder. word. dude made the government recognize martin luther king’s bday as a national holiday. that’s cool.
espn cancelled the ‘it’s the shoes’ after our second season in 2006, however we’ve continued to petition them to bring it back. entertainment is extremely unpredictable, so you never know what might happen. we’ll keep our fingers crossed.
One of my favorite sneaks of all-time were my Bata Bullets. They were light and looked cool. I balled in them for real at G’town with Sleepy Floyd, BeBe Duren, The Spriggs brothers and other local DC area talent.
Please do a piece on them, if you have not already.
Ps. In the retro era, will we ever see them as a remake?
Does the company who produced them still exist?
bata definitely still exists. i included their bullets and john wooden signatures in my book, but i don’t know if the company is up on re-issueing. when i hit them up for images, the people there now barely knew anything about their older catalog.
