BACK TO MY ROOTS / Apr 11, 2008 / 6:29 pm

This past year I went to Ghana to visit my family and check out the Cup of African Nations. If you didn’t know, soccer is a huge deal in Africa, and it turned the country of Ghana upside down to host such an event. Check out my photos from my trip at www.stonefacephotography.com

I had the chance to find time for a little bit of ball, and get a sense of what the country felt about the game. Honestly, with the Cup of Nations going on, finding a game was tough, but I at least got to shoot around and take some photos the various courts. You think you got it tough with black top? Imagine playing on dirt. or with backboards made of 2×4’s nailed together. That’s love.

photos are beautiful, stan! the dirt court reminds me of that scene from the movie Hoosiers out in Indiana. if you can get a chop handle on that, you can dribble anywhere!
