Hoops 4 Hope Delivers! / Apr 3, 2008 / 10:05 am

The H4H truck arrived in Africa two weeks ago chock full of donated sneakers from the States.

Recognize these? They are the K1X Chiefglider X BOUNCE that came out in ‘04, donated to Hoops 4 Hope by our own Bobbito Garcia.

Peep this letter from one of the Hoops 4 Hope sneaker donation recipients:

In my country when you get something from someone, it means a lot. It makes me keep moving forward. It also gives me more power and shows me the light at the end of the road. I am so thankful and happy for your support and know that it means a lot not only to me, but to each and every boy and girl in our programs. They will never forget you and will put a smile on their faces.

Thank you guy, you have moved us to a better place and way of life to choose and believe in.

    Hey Kool Bob,
Thanks for the love from all of us at H4H. As you know the sneakers go a long long way for the kids and coaches in our programs in place where no one can afford a pair. Mr. 718, we do accept donations the year long, and now have a few PODS being filled in people’s driveways on our behalf from NY to Vancouver. To find out where to send them please contact our volunteer sneaker logistics expert Emily Pratt at emily.pratt.h4h@gmail.com to find out the nearest place to get your kicks recycled and in the next shipment to Africa. Much love and respect from here in Cape Town. Mark

No lie, this is one of the most touching forms of community service i’ve ever seen. I hope to one day take part in this. I saved the link and will help spread the word.

    Peace
