Late Pass: Nike Air Force 25 Mid / Mar 31, 2008 / 3:23 pm

Last summer, Nike celebrated the 25th Anniversary of perhaps their most venerated model of all time, the Air Force 1. ‘07 was full of awesome new colorways for the shoe, including seven by our very own Bobbito. Along with that, Nike reinvented the AF1 in the hoops sector with the Nike Air Force 25. When I first peeped the shoe, I thought, “Nice! Those are dope!” Unfortunately, the $150 pricetag had me thinking “Can I Live” like S. Carter, and I wasn’t able to grab a pair. Last week, I hit up a Nike Outlet, and was elated when I saw these chillin’ on the back wall.

The quality on the shoe is superb, (and actually justifies the once hefty price) as there is nary a crooked stitch. The translucent midsole is on some extra bad-i-bah, while the full-length Zoom Air/Max Air is extremely comfortable.

Admittedly, I’m not a huge fan of the “True To Your School” all-patent joints, but the brown leather jumpoffs will definitely get a few looks. I’m fiending for the New Orleans All-Star Game Player Exclusives and the Lebron “L23″ Lows; too….The hunt is on!

    jeremy-

more and more i hear cats really looking back at the af25 as one of the performance impact shoes of ‘07. i hear, ‘yo bob, i love playing in these!’ all the time. little known fact . . . my AF1 Puerto Rico pack color combos were originally for an AF25 low cut summer ‘07 release. They changed their mind and pushed back the lows til fall, so we swung the blue and red on the my AF1 X Kool Bob Love hi-tops and the rest is history. i would’ve loved a pair in all blue with a white swoosh. hmmm . . . may have to go back to the nike ID for those!

Yeah, its definitely between this and the Gil lows as my fav of ‘07. Have either of you tried the EQT lows yet? I’ve heard terrible things about the highs and decided to give them the pass, but am somewhat intrigued by the lows. Thanks.

    Hey fellas-

Bob, that is an interesting tid bit…And a blue/blue/white swoosh AF25 Low (or a red/red/white for that matter) certainly does sound appetizing…Thd ID options are limited online, which is another reason I’d love to be NYC. Y’all can pick out any color combinations you guys want.

Terry- My good friend Nick @ Sole Collector told me the heel fit and traction in the EQT’s are disastrous…Hoop at your own risk, but if you’re looking for an adi. low-top, I’d suggest the Gil Zero or Gil II Zero. Both look dope, and peform nicely.

40 Cal- Congrats on the Bounce internship bud! I grabbed these for only $33, so I’m sure you could find a way to grab a pair…

the adidas speed creator low got some cheerios behind them too, iīd recommend. featured them in bounce #13 or #14 i think. the eqt boot bothered me, didnīt really fit right and the shoe wound up looking like waterskis below my ankles!

Forgot about those Speed Creators…Pretty dope shoe.

Even if the EQT’s aren’t that great on-court, that doesn’t diminish the dopeness of the adidas x Bounce EQT collabos…
