At the end of a career high of 31 point and 5 assists game against the Lakers, Rafer Alston decided to top it off with a little playground ball handling against Sasha Vujacic. Skip went “compulsory skate” on him with a basic reverse-pivot-one-hand-between-the-legs into a quick 3 dribbles between the legs for a real light 5.0 on the embarrassment scale. While the finger pointing at the end was questionable, point guard Rafer was attempting to leave his mark for the Gasol-fortified Lakers that the Yao-less Rockets will be a force to be reckoned with in the upcoming playoffs.

Yeah.. I think a lot of people underestimate Rafer because he toned down his game to fit the League. If Sasha is smart, he’ll think twice before D-ing Skip again.

Skip wouldve lead the nation is assists when he was @ Fresno if dudes wouldve finished or better yet been prepared for an nyc point guard. He got to sit behind Sam Cassell in Milwaukee and get his work ethic down, then when he went to Miami and Toronto he was a bonafide pro, no longer a potential pro because of his talent.
Youre right Bob,he didnt tone down his game for the league. The league is a business, and hes a pro, period. When hes home, you can still see the yo-yo is still rockin’,and now Sasha nows it without having to come to 155th to see it.

Jesse Washington says:
I think he DID tone down his game, because he did his playground moves at Fresno, and then he used to do them in the NBA until he wised up and got the big check.
andlet’s face it: if skip coul dget away with playground moves int he NBA, you KNOw he would do it. any true ballplayer would! that’s what makes him special!!!
In Skip’s next game after this one, when Houston got smashed by the celts, skip was throwing ill-advised one-handed lefty passes off the dribble and had two turnovers ina row. Doug Collins told him to “keep it fundamental.”

G
great observation, he has put the work in and he has done something incredibly noteworthy winning 22 in a row as the point guard of the rockets.

This was a good game. Seems like no one really cares about Sacha but Phil. When Carmelo clotheslined him,Kobe and most of the lakers looked over at him like “Damn sun u just got slammed”.
He must have bad breath or something..
