No time for a photo as I’m flying to San Fran tomorrow morning, but . . .
Real deal, I’ve only lost two 3-point contest in my whole life, and they were both to Jack Ryan who eventually won the ESPN City Slam Nationals so I’m not mad at that. I’ll take an L to him, besides he’s my peoples. Starting with the Pepsi Hot Shot Manhattan Competition back in ‘82, bong bong–give me 1st place. In ‘07, I hit my first 16 shots in a row at the Nike NRF 3-point jump-off, and finished with 22 points (out of a max of 30 with five spots, five balls each, last the money ball for two). So tonight I felt confident. I changed my form 2 months ago, but finally got comfortable with it last week. Had 18 to win the first round. 18 to crush in the second round. 20 in the final round, but then Lou Diamonds tied me. Boom, we go for another 5 spots each . . . and I got fatigued. I had ran fulls this afternoon at the 14th St. Y, but no excuse. I hit 12, he clawed for 13 . . . and I lost. I felt crushed. I sold out. Wow.
Tomorrow I’ll be on a flight to Cali, reading magazines, then spinning Latin Soul music at night to wonderful dancers. I’ll forget about tonight. But for now I’M TIGHT!
Read up on the Nike NRF All-Star Game here.
Bless,
Bob

Yo Bob,
Got the e-mail, and hope you have a great time out on the Left Coast. If you see Del, holler at him for me!
Anyways, I think everyone that frequents the Bounce website realizes you have ice in your veins and will recover. But why did you alter your shot form? Were you lacking rotation or something?

jeremy-
i changed my form because i’ve had an injured shoulder for over a year that has not healed. so really it was just about adjusting my left guide hand lower to avoid pain, but still getting the one motion release from my right. i need to see it on film, but it’s clicking finally.
nhamz-
you don’t want it homeboy! stick to your button down shirts!

Don’t be so down on losing the 3-point comp. I got 10-of-10 during my first-ever 3-point shootout last month.. Sike! Not 10-of-10 buckets, but misses! Hahaha.
