Rafer “Skip To My Lou” Alston

Covering the NBA is not our thing whatsoever. We depend on our good partners www.dimemag.com to hit home runs like that. But we had to big up Queens native and NYC playground legend Rafer Alston, who as the starting point guard for the Houston Rockets has played a big role in their current franchise-record shattering 18 consecutive wins. Three more and they tie the second most in NBA history. Should we feel proud? Of course!

Check our new poll and vote on how long their streak will last, and if you think “Skip” will ever earn an All-Star selection down the road in his career.

Mr. Alston, if you’re reading this–we’d love to see you suit up at EBC and everywhere else this summer. Keep doin’ your thing!

Pick up our current Spring issue #14 which includes an article on Ron “The Teacher” Naclerio, the man responsible for putting the Rockets’ star through intensive ballhandling drills as a child.

Rafer is a legit NBA 1 and should be an allstar in the future. Hard to believe that this dude was in the D-league a few years back and is now running the show for one of the best teams in the L.

  2. Bakar says:

Love the shot of Rafer in the old-school Rockets uni. I wish he’d get the nod for All-Star, just so he can show off his boogie moves.
