Okay, cool. Now that you got your goose bumps on, big ups to director Kirk Fraser for putting this film together. Looks like it will be dookey-phenomenal and we can’t wait ’til it comes out to peep it. For our younger readers, just know that U. of Maryland All-American Len Bias’ name used to get mentioned in the same sentence with Michael Jordan while they both clamped down the ACC in the ’80s. Need I say more? He unfortunately passed away shortly after he became the Boston Celtics’ 1986 #1 draft choice so he never got to splash the NBA. Shout out to Geroy Grant for putting us up on this. Be on the lookout, it’s a cookout!

Sean Couch says:
Len Bias was as good if not better than James Worthy in College. He was also compared to Michael Jordan in college! I never saw I player leap off two-feet and launch his body to the rim like Len. He had the sweet turn around and he ran the floor like a deer. Playing with Bird, he would have given Boston a chip based on his athleticism and skill once he adjusted to the league.
Len is a lesson for all younger and older ones that life is indeed precious.

yessir Couch, but he was better than Worthy. Worthy was the beneficiary of a better team, better backcourt so he didnt have to create his own shot like Bias and Worthy didnt have to defend the other teams best player every trip like Bias did.
Bias in Boston with Bird in his prime wouldve been sick. Let’s not forget that Bias would’ve had to guard BK (Bernard King) in his prime at that time as well (Whew!!!)
I remember how somber practice was the day he passed away. Coach Ray Diaz up at the Webster P.A.L on 125th and St.Nick. Usually he’d have us running for a majority of the practice, but that day he sat us down center court for about 45 minutes and talked to us about responsibility and decision making. You could see in his face how much it bothered him that a young man with such talent and potential would throw his life away with one mistake. Dont worry coach,i remembered, life is about decison making, you nailed that one…..

Justin Solomon says:
Bias would have been a star in the league if not for the drugs that killed him. His legend is on par with that of other fallen talents like Hank Gathers, Drazen Petrovic, and Reggie Lewis. The latter two did their thing in the L for a minute before passing, but Gathers had it the same as Bias. A bright future that ended before it could really begin. The movie should be a good look.

Word is bond this brings back an earie sad feeling…
I live in MASS and remember the devastation of hearing about Bias’ death right after he got drafted….
He owulda made the Celtics a whole nother team than what existed back then, and there was nuff high hopes riding on just that fact…..
Just like when Reggie Lewis died, same situation too.
Coke is super wack, I hate what frosted flakes does to people.
I can honestly say, at 31 years old, I never sniffed yay, how many cats around my age can say that!!!!!!??????
Damn shame, that flick shoulda been made, big ups to the creators…..Damn shame this joint even needed to be made and not a potentially better version of “Come Fly w/ Me” Len Bias style later on his career…Imagine the fate of Michael Jordan IF? this dude lived….

getting goose bumps reading these comments . . .
g-len wouldn’t have had to guard bernard king in his prime. by ‘86, bk was not the same player he was for the ‘84 play-off knicks when he not only ruled, he splashed averaging 40+ for the pistons series while sick and with an injured finger. shortly after he blew his knee out, and by the time he was on the bullets, nah, b, definitely not the same player. mad love to bernard. he was sick to watch when he was on fire. plus he repped west 4th, tillary park, foster park, etc. he was hood and would come back to the playground and rock in the summers.

Yo… this completely crushed me as a ball player. But it was such a common thing in Memphis that I don’t think any other heads in this city blinked twice. If this story is made then someone should put together a film of the Memphis State University team that featured Doom Haynes, Baskerville Holmes, William Bedford, Keith Lee, Vincent Askew and Andre Turner and of course head coach Dana Kirk who ended up in prison. Bedford got losts off of that white, and Baskerville Holmes ended up committing suicide in the 90’s. Keith Lee never turned into the player he should have been and a lot of that was speculated be because of horse.
There are some tragic stories in hoops. Bias was a blow to any hoops head. Just like the Magic announcement was a complete stunner. But Benji and Len are hoops Biggie and Pac. Gods gone way too soon.

super bob-i stand corrected. youre right about b.king in 86 his knee was cooked at that point.
but let me find out you know about foster park?! lol!!
man if someone were to ever bring back a live tourney in that park it would cook hardbody!!
shout out to Gerald King,Bernard and Albert’s younger brother who was also one of the commissioners in Tillary back in the 80’s and 90’s.
but back to the moral of the story, len bias wouldve been one of the few dudes drafted number with the title of cant miss that wouldve honestly lived up to that title,easily..
