Andre Barrett Picks Up The Phone . . . / Mar 2, 2008 / 2:09 am

And it’s the L.A. Clippers on the other line calling him up from the NBDL for a quick taste of NBA honey. The NYC native has been getting stats for the Bakersfield Jam (18 ppg, 8.8 apg) and was recently traded to the Austin Toros. He also got burn in the DL All-Star Game and played lovely. He’s no stranger up top, having tied his shorts up for the Bulls, Suns, Magic, Raptors, and Rockets. Word last summer was that an all-Rice HS alumni squad, featuring him, Homicide, Kenny Satterfield, on and on, was gonna hit the pavement come ‘08. In ‘06, Barrett last played in Hoops In The Sun @ Orchard Beach one game and broke the record with 57 points. The next week, K-Satt dropped 61 and that hasn’t been touched up there since. Don’t be shook. In the meantime, we rooting for the brother to do his thing and hopefully stay up top, especially since Sam Cassell is ghost to the most from the Clips now.
