Jason Kapono Vs. Jack Ryan / Feb 17, 2008 / 10:32 am

Jason Kapono just won his second NBA All-Star 3-Point Contest. I’d like to see him go up against playground legend Jack “Black Jack” Ryan, who graces our March Issue #14 Cover (below) and once hit 23 of 25 threes in the third quarter of a Harlem Wizards game. I think Jack would give Kap-padona a run for his money! If you’ve seen both play, what do you think?

Yo, that would be a great category. Have a playground champ inserted into the mix. Even a guy like Hopla to go along with Jack to challenge the League.

  2. Bakar says:

You gotta give Black Jack the edge cos he shoots outdoors. The wind can really mess up your trajectory if you’re not used to it..

  3. Basketball Benny says:

I think that it would be great to see Jack shoot it out with Kapono, they both got guns. I predict that Jack would hit the winning shot just after looking at his wristwatch.

Was Jack at ASW in New Orleans? I might be mistaken, but I saw a guy who looks very similar to him doing CRAZY tricks on the Center Court at Jam Session before the All-Stars practise or half-time or something. The mic man didn’t even know what he was watching and didn’t hype it correctly. His skills with the ball are insane! Never got to see him shoot, but I’ve heard he is lights out.

Props to Jason. i saw him warm up and set a Guiness record of 45 nba 3’s in 2 minutes from the corner. He would be tough to beat. I might have a chance outdoors and at the college 3.
