VOTE BARACK AND BARON / Jan 23, 2008 / 10:00 am

Reebok Voyage Mid

Yes, I will vote for Barack Obama come February 5th. Maybe not as important, but just as well-deserved, I’ll be clicking on Baron Davis’ name for the NBA All-Star team ‘08. His camp sent me a nifty t-shirt and Voyage Mid Team issue with my name on the ankle. He’s gotta be the coolest dude out at this point. We both were invitees to the NBA 2K8 video game press event, and when I stepped up to the mic he hollered, “The great Bobbito!” I was like wow. Homedude yanked it on AK47 something awful in the ‘07 Play-offs, and he’s calling me great? Haha! That had me tickled. Mad love to the brother. Word.

You may not get the customized shoe, but you can support his campaign by going to www.rbkhoops.com.

If it weren’t for the HUGE bright orange Reebok logo I’d have thought they were Adidas. Not a bad look though altogether. I’d drop a buck on ‘em.

  2. Shovel-face says:

How can you vote for someone who has almost the same name as Osama Bin Laden? U better keep that to yourself or grow a long beard so you can fit in with the religion…

  3. Bobbito Garcia a.k.a. Kool Bob Love says:

    shovel face-

your comment is mad ignorant, b. wow.

  4. Shovel-face says:

Bobbito Garcia aka Kool Bob Love:

The comment is not ignorant at all. You are voting for someone who used to do coke, reads the Koran, and has almost the exact name as a terrorist. Not saying Hillary Clinton or the other candiates are better, but c’mon… Barack is one inch away from being on Bin Laden’s next mix-tape. What volume is he up to by the way, Bob? I think it’s six… Maybe seven… Do u know exactly?

  5. Seronies says:

    I believe the word is ****-**** . . .

    Yeah, that’s it.

  6. Bobbito Garcia a.k.a. Kool Bob Love says:

Do you remember Knicks’ Coach Dick Harter? He had the worst name ever, but was a great leader for the squad. Should I not have rooted for the Celtics back then cuz of his name?!!!

  7. Shovel-face says:

What’s wrong with the name Dick Harter? I like the word dick anyhow. You want your leader to be someone who smokes weed and sniffs blow? We can’t find anyone American to be the next leader of the US? And the Celtics were wack back then, so I don’t think u should have rooted for them persnonally. That’s like rooting for Isiah “I cheated on my wife with her best friend for fifteen years and I go both ways” Thomas… C’mon? What can you say about that?

  8. Andy Buckets says:

    Shovel-Face,
“Before you point fingers make sure your hands are clean.”

  9. Shovel-face says:

Nobody is perfect…But my hands are clean, post Skinamax of course…

  10. CasUno says:

Shovel_Face, shove off w/ ya racist idiocracy, man.
    “Real Amercians”?
    What are those?
Why are you on a B Ball site spreading your hate-cause-ya-scared ways?
You do understand that just cause a boat load of honkeys crashed their Flower boat on the shores of the “New World” in search of “freedom” from England of all places, that doesn’t mean this piece of dirt in the Western world is rightfully theirs……There were people here already, champ.
    You know this though.
You fear a Muslim Black presidential candidate, you should!
This isn’t 1828, man, take ya Nazi train of thought to a place where people of color don’t exist (good luck w/ that) or do us all a favor and off yaself, then use ya grill piece to cover the hole you obviously belong in…
    Dude’s a hate monger treating a basketball blog like a message board…
    …’the f*ck outta here w/ that sh!t, David Duke.

  11. Shovel-face says:

I’m half Dominican, and half black, sir. Not white.

  12. CasUno says:

Then wtf is your problem, man?????????????????????
    You sound mad Ku-Klux w/ this sh!t.

  13. Bakar says:

No ****! I didn’t know there’s a name requirement for being a President.. but then again, with a name like Hillary.. oops, Shovel-face; that gives you all the right to diss anyone you dislike, right? God Bless America, indeed.

  14. Saku 39 says:

If a candidate has a good policy for the economy and Iraq then I’m willing to overlook some “mistakes” as a youth.

Also, I’m not taking that guy’s/girl’s comments too seriously so I’m not really bothered.

Bobbito: Speaking of Obama…he can really hoop-it-up ! Check him out by clicking on my name. And Bobbito can you help me identify some N.Y.C. stars photos I just put on my space. To the best of my knowledge #10 is Tony “Red” Bruin with the 42 inch vertical former Syracuse star, #12 is Sam Perkins former North Carolina star, and #20 I believe is “Sidney Vicious” Green former UNLV star. Go to http://www.myspace.com/actordantheladiesman

    Thanx for anyone’s assistance !
    Take-it-to-the-hoop and don’t-forget-to-shoot !
And as west coast d.j. “humble harv” used to say; “Don’t forget to spread love, baby !

  16. Bobbito Garcia a.k.a. Kool Bob Love says:

haha! dan the man–checked your myspace page. the fly williams and ray lewis photos are unbelievable. priceless. the elmcor squad definitely features tony ‘red’ bruin who was known for rocking that thigh wrap. i knew dudes whose legs were fine but wore one afterwards just to look like him! i couldn’t ID the other players, but sid green was in that same era as bruin, although perkins i believe came a little later in the early ’80s so i doubt it’s him. hope that helps.

  17. Dan the Man says:

Thanx Bobbito for the help ! I still think that was Sam Perkins #12 cuz he was selected for the 1980 McDonalds Game and “Red” was for 1979. I also believe Vern Fleming (Georgia and Indiana Pacers) is in one of the pictures. One of the players shooting over Red was Greg Goorjian (UNLV)4A All-C.I.F. 1978 player of the year who averaged 43.4 as a high school senior with 1259 points. One of the players trying to defend “Red” was Leonel Marquetti (U.S.C.) and 1978 McDonalds Gamer.

  18. Jeremy Ripley says:

Hot shoe Bob…I was wondering what flavor you’d hit us off with.

Baron is one of my three favorite NBA’ers, so that shirt is a must. Is it available on Reebok.com?

I’m not sure I’ll be voting this year, but if I do it’ll be for Barack or Ron Paul. Barack’s “inexperience” in politics could mean he actually might accomplish something worthwile over on Capitol Hill. And anyways, who’s to say our democratic governmental system is that effective anyhow? The only reason it worked in Greece is because the people elected or the people making the decisions were an accurate representation (or at least a large accumulation) of citizens that represented their current society. Outside of a few women and people of color, most of the governmental officials are highly-educated white males making six-figures a year. Call me pessimistic, but I think it’s tough to expect those guys to connect with many in the lower and middle classes. Just a thought though.
