Crafted by dynamic designer Drew Winfield, the Answer 11 is a compelling shoe with an interesting backstory (I’ll address that in a forthcoming review). Essentially, Winfield captured I3’s diverse personality and added in a bit of Horoscopical flavor. Anyways, I wasn’t too keen on the previously released colorways of the 11, but it appears Reebok read my mind and released it in a Baron Davis-esque scheme, plus a delicious black/yellow/powder blue stitching offering. They’re only $99, so they’re substantially cheaper than a Lebron V or the Jordan XX2 PE.

You can find the Black/Yellow version at most Champs Sports. The above picture is thanks to Niketalk member JordanFan2K7. The grey/orange is available at: Reebok’s Online Store

I hate to jump in and switch gears but I played in Reeboks when I played at San Diego City and they were horrible. I didn’t buy another pair until I bought the DMX with the 5 pods on the bottom and I used those on the treadmill and they were alright.

Although this shoe is a bit better than the 10 I think AI deserves more. His heart and soul as a baller are incredible and the way he gives back to the community should allow Reebok to create a better shoe for him but on the real, I’m not feeling the look.

Now I’m switching gears. We did a shoe last year that was not a very strong kick, but for a first shoe that didn’t bite the AF1 (See BAPE, Greedy, etc.) we took a risk with SHO-SHOT and made the ECLIPSE. It didn’t make much noise nationally but I did get Bobbito a pair just for his collection, though he probably didn’t rock em. (I’m good with that, really) But now that we have taken the time to work with some bigger and more substantial backing we have created a shoe that will be the best hoops shoe on the market this year for the price. Bobbito and Jeremy I’d like to introduce you to MARQUI Athletics first shoe the REIGN. www.marquiathletics.com

I would like to send you a pair to feel and touch and I’d like for you to be the guy to break the shoe to the world Jeremy. We will be headed to the manufacturer to finalize some details, materials, etc, and we will have the samples next month. You will be the first sneaker head to physically hold the hoops shoe in your hand. The rest of them will go to stores where we are looking to generate pre-orders which is difficult for a new brand, but very real, trust me the shoe is incredible.

The marketing on the shoe will be simple: Don’t wear these if you are trying to match them with a fruity colored jacket or tee shirt, these sneakers are for ballers, and serious sneaker fanatics.

Anyway peep out the site and check out the technical breakdown of the shoe. Contact me with mailing info as well.

    Yours in hoops,
    President of Marketing MARQUI Athletics
    Chris Burns

    Mr. Burns

I remember the Sho-Shot shoe…I appreciate that upcoming brands are stepping out and creating a bit more than the AF1 Knockoffs….
