Nike Team Elite II Shox with Pelham Fritz 38 and over League Team Warriors shorts.

As I mentioned two weeks ago here (http://www.bouncemag.com/2008/01/02/im-tight/), I’ve put myself to a challenge to come more fresh out the box with original and unique butters on the court lately. Maybe you the readers can help me out, though. Which joints go better with my Warriors shorts, the orange Shox or the navy Speed Creator? No one at IS 201 gym had seen those adidas before, so a couple of heads asked me, “Where’d You Get Those?” They felt good to play in, too. Only thing is that my left leg has been bothering me, and the support on the Shox made me feel lovely. But on a purely style level, which do I finish the season with?

As you all well know, I test-wear all brands and review shoes’ performance in my “Let’em Marinate” Bounce Magazine column. In Winter Issue #13, I voted the Speed Creator “Most Flavor Performance Low.” Issue #14, featuring the Team Elite II Shox and others, will be out in March.

I think both look pretty flavor. I’m a fan of lighter shoes, so I think I’d take the Speed Creators for strictly performance. But I really dig how Nike brought this year’s Shox Elite together (I like them much more than the Huarache, Air Max, and Air Vis). The ankle strap, metallic heel counter, and old school swoosh are a deadly combination.

As for injuries, I really hurt my back yesterday in a league game. I have a funky gait, so I’m probably going to have to get myself back in some custom orthotics…sigh.

On a pure style level…the Speed Creator flows better with the navy in the shorts. However, I’d probably prefer to play in the Shox. I’ve fallen in love with every pair I’ve ever had since they are perfect for a little extra support.

    Pasta-

the pelham fritz 38 and over league has try-outs usually in october-november. all 8 teams watch the potential rookies, then they do a draft so that no one squad gets over-stacked. i have a game this sunday at 2:30 if you want to check it, is201 gym on 127th St. bet. park and madison, 2nd flr. charles smith, gus williams, speedy, future, steve burtt, master rob, predator, man–it might be the best league in america, young or old!

    the adidas look better..

if im you, i come to the gym in what looks better, but play in what feels better..

    they both look good..

might be too much orange with the shox, but orange is a good thing!

  6. Sole On Ice says:

The orange on the Shox is slightly different from your shorts, so the Speed Creators get the initial go for matching perfectly but the Shox get the last nod(IMHO)from a strictly performance level. Both are extremely flavorful choices though…

I have a huge bias against Adidas (A Dogs), mostly b/c of where I live (Ma, cats hate “the Hook” (Nike), but let’s be real)……The only Adidas I ever thought were frESH were the Ewings and models around that time that looked similar…..I actually saw this blonde white gal sportin the Ewings w/ a Ewing throwback jersey that fit like a skirt not too long ago at an Aesop Rock show….

Gotta go w/ the Shox, though I’m no fan of Shox, simply cause w/ ya leg hurtin like that, the impact from jumping and running could add further wear and tear to ya get-away sticks….the Orange does contrast, but it’s all about the Orange in my world, maybe cause of my 4 1/2 year stint upstate NY on some higher learning ish….

    Rock the Shox, Buhbie.
    Honalulu Hoppoh.

My 89Tech9 library is very plentiful, my brother, as is some friends of mine that have been in contact w/ you and compiling ish for you (and Stretch I believe)…..
Honestly, I have probably over 80 tapes full of shows, plus Big Shirley lives downstairs from one of my old roommates that I know holds a great deal of shows….I used to get all of ‘em from Shiggs….That’s another funny thing; YOU chill w/ a lot of my friends….Tell Drew Petes you was electro kiting CasUno and he’ll get a good laugh.
peace bro. I’ll be looking for the announcement….Did you decide on the Shox or what yo????

Drew Peets is big ass muhf*cka…..

    What ever happened to “CornBread”?
Word to cassette decks that still work. I tried to cop one at best buy and they wanted too much for a cassette deck…by my standards….
Anyhow, I see ya being tight lipped on ya sneaker selection, so I’m gonna put my cash on neither….
    Keep it crunchy, GiggleFitz.
    peace.
