Last weekend in Paris, we had our version of an All-Star Game complete with a 3 point shoot-out, point guard contest, dunk competition, Barcelona cheerleaders, the Miami Heat Street Band and the main attraction of the League’s 12 best French players against the 12 best foreigners.
Foreigners: Sean Colson & John Cox (Philly), Marc Salyers (Chicago), Brion Rush (Shreverport), Sam Clancy(Fairview), Ricardo & Jeff Greer (NYC), Jimmal Ball (Canton), Chevon Troutman (Williamsport), Lamayn Wilson (Crenshaw County), Tony Williams ( Germany), Uche Nsonwu-amadi (Nigeria).
French: M.A Pellin, Alain Koffi, Steed Chicamboud, Victor Samnick, Nando de Colo, Cyril Julian, Pape Badiane, Nicolas Batum, Yohan Sangaré, Dounia Issa, Vincent Masingue, Cyril Akpomedah
France won 94-82 in a poor spectacle of no dunks or crazy moves. It seems that we’re trying to transpose the NBA ASG on European culture, but it’s not working because we’re doing the half of the job. Our basketball is too much confined in its team systems of screens and structure. As a consequence, the players are losing their creativeness and sense of sight on such event.
However we can be proud of our dunk contest, maybe one of the best in the world. Luckily it is open to amateurs so the crowd is always discovering new talents like Slam Nation members who’ve succeeded through the years to heat up the imaginations of all.
Five dunkers competed: Kevin Lescot, Steeve Lobel & Guy Dupuy from the Slam Nation, Fabian Greiser the German dunk icon & and Max Kouguere the only Pro. After a crazy first round, Max went to the finals against Guy who nearly won every dunk contest in Europe this year from the previous ASG to the Quai 54 & the Midnight Madness in London. Surprisingly, Kouguere won this one thanks to his creativity (and missed attempts by Dupuy).
Don’t miss the incredible Guy Dupuy mix below.

I remeber when Sean Colson was playing in Poland 2002/2003, 19 ppg (almost 60% 2pt), 6 ass., but he didn’t really led his team to many wins, and he was fired. After that he moved to Italy to Lega 2, and he scored sth like 30 ppg.
Could someone from New York tell, is Otis Hill known there (on playgrounds)?

otis hill doesn’t ring a bell, but there are so many dudes out here just cuz i don’t know him doesn’t mean he’s not putting it in somewhere. there are 70 outdoor tournaments in nyc during the summer. it’s impossible to be up on everyone.

What up Kev! Good to see you on here! Hoping to see some of your incredible pictures on here too.
Ricardo Greer played over in London for a year a few years back too, for the London Towers (back when there was any kind of money in the UK game). He’s got major game. Always played under control, but when it was time to really put it in, he always was able to make a play.

Otis Hill played 1 yr in the Rucker Tournament. One of New Yorks best and well known tournaments. He had a mention in a street ball book. I believe the summer he played was the summer of 1996. The rest of his career has been spent overseas.
