You’ve heard of that school U. of Texas, right? The one that Kevin Durant went to? Well, ten years prior, the MAN there from ‘94-’97 was Bronx native and Rice H.S. product Reggie “Hi-5″ Freeman. He was 1st team All-Big 12 Conference, and finished as the school’s third all-time leading scorer, as well as top ten all-time in three-pointers, rebounds, and steals. He’s won EBC @ Rucker Park chips in Harlem and has had the same success overseas. He blessed us with a letter recently . . .

What’s going on? I see the love that you’ve been showing to DP, Homicide, and Adris on your site, so I thought your readers would be interested to know about what other NYC high caliber players are up to as well! Quinton “T2″ Hosely is doing his thing in Turkey his 1st year out! “Anti-Freeze,” Jason “J-Hi” McLeish, and Rick Apodaca are there as well. Kareem “Big Game” Reid, Peter Mulligan, and the Greer brothers are doing work on the same team in France! Keydren “Wet Those” Clark is playing well in Italy and is about to get big money in a minute. Ty Grant and Steve Burtt Jr. are in Italy, too. Mike Campbell is in Isreal. Duane Woodward a.k.a. “40″ is in Cypress. John “The Franchise” Strickland is CBA-ing it, probably the league’s oldest player and just had three 20+ plus games.
As for myself, you know I’ve been playing streetball for over 15 years, and pro for 7 with MVPs and chips on both sides. I’m proud to say I’m one of the few Americans ever to have his European Club jersey retired!
We all rep for streetball everywhere we play. Keeep doing your thing!

Reggie Freeman is one of the best players to not make the N.B.A. But yet he is still respected among the leagues players. I seen him play at St. Ray’s & Texas where he had a great career. He can adapt his game to any style of play wether it be street ball or organized ball and give you 40 easy!

I’m sorry i meant to say Reggie played at Rice H.S. along with Felipe Lopez. That’s when the Rice vs St. Ray’s featuring Kareem Reid rivalry was at it’s best.

I was around when Reg came out of college. I felt he had the ability to play the point in the NBA if he was given the chance. With Reg it always was a question about D. His jump shot was always a good look.
