The Dancing Ghost Of The Playground / Nov 6, 2007 / 11:42 am

I’m on my tippy toes.

So, I’m chilling at APT last Wednesday the 31st, Halloween night, vibing with the sounds of DJ Rich Medina, when boo-haa-haa a 6′8″ ghost walks on the dancefloor. I’m like, “Who the?” Then it reaches it’s hand out to me across 4 dancers and says, “Whaddup, Bob?” Hmmm, a hip hop spirit, no less. Had i slapped boards on’em in the ’80s? “Yo, who goes there?” I blurt. “It’s your man Shane a.k.a. Captain Nappy!” Ha ha ha ha! Of course! A former center for Coach Ron Naclerio at Cardoza H.S., the big man held it down in EBC @ Rucker Park for close to a decade through the late ’90s-early ’00s. He was a valuable shot-blocker and rebounder, and featured in the HBO special “On Hallowed Ground.” We haven’t seen him on a court in a minute, but he does come down to my parties from time to time.

Big shout-out to the big man, aah-ight!
