STREETSOCCER X STREETBALL?!!! / Nov 2, 2007 / 11:56 am

Street Soccer is a brand played around the world that emphasizes skill, showmanship, and improvisation. ESPN Content Development commissioned us to do a pilot so we flew out the Monta team (www.montasoccer.com), considered the very best in the globe.

On this squad is Soufiane Touzani, one of–if not the–world’s best freestylers. We had him do an exhibition on 136th St. off Amsterdam with our friend Bobbito Garcia, a streetball, hip hop and sneaker racounteur (and also former Host of “It’s The Shoes”). People gathered in a cypher b-boy style and cheered as Ball 4 Real/former EBC announcer Boobie Smooth called the play-by-play of the friendly battle. Can you guess who took out who?!

We shot all weekend from W4th St. to Harlem. We’re in the edit now and it could turn into a lot of different things, from a DVD to a show to a world tour. Stay tuned!
