Yesterday, I headed to Harlem for the Nike Boot Launch at Vault. It was refreshing to hit up a neighborhood-type event Uptown. In this industry, people usually don’t roam too far above 14th St., and for the most part the Downtown ish is played out. Last night, Harlem World felt like home. Walk around for a minute there and you’ll see everyone wearing the Goadome’s, no lie, including UPS, Fed Ex, the mailman, dude on the corner, kids who should be in school (but are somehow hooping in jeans at 1pm), etc.
The jump-off was real cool. (Pause) Bigger isn’t always better. The music was on point, and most of all I was able to have conversations and hear myself speak. You need to check out product, but getting a chance to talk to the people behind the movement is even more valuable.
Shouts to the whole Nike crew for taking care of me: PR, Josh P (You have to post now homie), Gavin, Lori, Kejuan, Dawn.
The Nike Boot/Boogie Exhibition is open to the public tonight so definitely check it out @ Vault - 2498 Frederick Douglass Blvd. (bet. 133rd and 134th St.) Harlem, NY 10030
