In September, Raphael Edward’s STREETGODZ FREESTYLE CHALLENGE @ Club Sol in Manhattan was invaded by an international slew of the best tricksters known to mankind, including Puerto Rico’s Jansy Gonzalez of Project Playground, Canada’s Ghost of And 1’s Mixtape Tour, Japan’s Tana and Matsu of Block & Lock, and other notables. In the end, London’s Tommy Baker edged out the BX’s Chosen 1 of Game Over Shakers, in process claiming $2000 in cash.
Streetgodz’ competition hits Moscow on Nov. 28th, China in December, then New Orleans Feb. 15th for the NBA All-Star Weekend. Tour kicks off in Summer ‘08.

Shout out to my man Tommy Baker - his handle is insane. He might not break you in the open court, but when it comes to freestyle? NOBODY is seeing him. I’ve seen him do things you can’t even describe. He’s been doing this for over 15 years and stays dedicated to working on drills everyday. I swear his handle is on a spritual level now. For real.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the comments and thanks to Raphael for the invite to the Streetgodz competition. It was a real honor to be invited to this competition, never mind actually wiinning it!… of which words fail me. I have put New Orleans in my diary and I hope to receive an invite from Raphael
Up until the Streetgodz competition my only yardstick to measure my skills over the years has been myself. Streetball culture really struggles in the UK and freestyle is even further down the list, so I’m out here on my own with no precedence for what I practice for everyday. I would really like to be pitched in with the best that planet earth has to offer at New Orleans to see how far along the freestyle scale I am. I’ve learnt that my biggest strength and advantage in basketball freestlye is not my skills or talents, but my obscene daily dedication and perseverance… of which I place all of my confidence in. I look forward to seeing you at the next Streetgodz competition
