Tilden HS’ Alanzo George / Sep 13, 2007 / 2:46 pm

On March 15, 2007, Tilden’s Alanzo George was involved in an automobile accident that left him paralyzed. On Sept 7, 2007, he attended the Wheelchair Basketball Classic and received a new motorized wheel chair. For 17-years this game has been supported by NBA players from the city such as Anthony Mason, Mark Jackson, Ed Pickney, Stephon Marbury, Rafer Alston, and Ron Artest. By donating their time and giving back, kids like Alanzo receive assistance that betters their quality of life.

They still have a hs version of the game played at St. John’s University and as always the Garden has been a supporter of the games for several years.
