On Sunday, August 26, 2007, “Books Before Basketball” (sponsored by The Abyssinian Basketball Program) will be hosting their annual Back-To-School Jam. This is a youth-driven, family oriented, day long event that will include tons of activities.

There will be free give-aways of school related goods throughout the day, as well as special guest appearances, speakers, and performances. Other events include basketball game, chess playing, talent/fashion show, double dutch, dance contest, and a carnival. Abyssinian’s gathering is expected to service over 4,500 youth and adult participants, including 250 student-athletes. The basketball games alone are known to draw notoriously large crowds.
