NBA Rookie Photo Shoot / Jul 30, 2007 / 3:13 pm

Oden rapping with me for a sec.

Friday was the NBA Rookie Photo Shoot in Westchester County, NY at the Knicks practice facility. All the incoming rooks were there rockin their team jerseys taking group, action, and single photos as well as shots for their first trading cards.

The set up was hot. There was a bunch of food, a DJ playing all the summer bangers, and a video game station. In between the guys were just chillin being interviewed by members of the press. I had a chance to rap with most of the ‘07 Draft Class. Instead of asking them the same redundant questions, I compiled a list of interesting ones so the public could learn more about who they are.

I was suprised at some of the answers. The first overall pick in the draft, Ohio State’s Greg Oden, said he’s currently pushing a Ford Taurus when asked what whip he was riding in. “Man, I have to wait until I get to Portland to buy a car. I’m jealous, alot of these guys are driving Range Rovers and I am driving my mom’s Taurus!” University of Florida power forward Al Horford was quick to answer when asked about the first female celebrity he’d like to meet. Before I could finish the question Al blurted out, “JESSICA ALBA!” Not a bad choice at all!

Ms. Alba if you’re reading this…meet Al Horford.

The second overall pick Kevin Durant couldn’t talk for long but I managed to holla at him for a sec. Seafood restaurants in Seattle beware, the cat loves crab legs.

K.D. thinking about some crab legs

Even though the guys got to chill and take photos they are no joke on the court, this rookie class is serious. Look for them to make big moves this season.
