BROOKLYN WINS:
Last week I asked what borough has produced the most pros? The vote is in and Brooklyn beats Queens, Manhattan and the Bronx 3 players to 2. (Sebastian Telfair, Chris Taft, & Quincy Douby all from Coney Island) over Queens (Royal Ivey & Charlie Villanueva), Manhattan (Luis Flores and Julius Hodge), and Bronx (Alan Ray & Francisco Garcia).

NBA 2007 Draft:

With the NBA Draft coming up tomorrow what City players are up for consideration according to the experts? Manhattan’s Joakim Noah, Quinton “T2″ Hosley from Harlem
and Curtis Sumpter from Brooklyn are the only city players up on the draft boards…

Should anyone else be up for consideration in your opinion? Let us know.

Looking at the names, I assume you’re comparing for cats from the recent draft classes? ‘Cos if you include all active NBA players, I’m sure the numbers would be slightly different. I mean, there’s Starbury, Ron-Ron, Mel-Mel, Smush..

  2. Bobbito says:

yes, sean’s original question was only refering to the last 3 years . . . if you include total NBA history, Brooklyn might still have produced the most players professionally, however Manhattan can always claim the greatest ever–Kareem Abdul-Jabbar from Dyckman!

  3. Sean Couch says:

Correct, last 3 years! Bob on point.

  4. Sean Couch says:

Congrats to Sammy Mejia from the Bronx for getting drafted by the Detroit Pistons via DePaul in the second round.

  5. Jhillson says:

What about Ron Artest? Queens, right?

  6. Sean Couch says:

Artest was drafted in 1999. The question was in the last 3 years.
