Crazy AF “flavors” @ Nike

What’s good everyone?! It’s the resident foot soldier for Bounce here to tell you how I spent my Friday night at the Nike ID Gallery in lower Manhattan. There was food, drinks, collectors, and best of all FREE sneakers!!

I was invited by Mr. DJ Cucumber Slice himself to chill at the Nike lounge down on Elizabeth St. It was a small promotional type of thing that brought together a few of the known “sneaker heads” from around the area, including our own Bobbito. It was a crazy incredible atmosphere. There were wall-to-wall Air Force 1’s, a video montage playing with some of Bobbito’s career accomplishments, and these couches that had ill Nike designed pillows on them.

While there I got to choose between customizing my own pair of AF1 of AF25 supremes on the house. That’s right, completely free!! Of course, I went with the ‘premo’s because I hadn’t had the chance to cop a pair yet. I designed them following the color scheme of my bball team’s jersey, which is a combination of navy blue, white, teal, and baby blue. I also personalized it with my tag (BallGurl) and my borough (BX) the Bronx. If it’s hard to picture, don’t worry, as soon as they come in the mail I’ll post some pics of the finished product. Trust me though, they are FIRE!!

I wanna thank Bobbito for giving me the opportunity to do that. I appreciate it a great deal. As a sneaker head myself, it was one of the best experiences ever. If any of you readers get the chance to do anything like this, definitely go for it. There is no better feeling for someone who loves sneakers than to be able to design your own. It’s like hitting the game winning shot or making someone fall with a crossover because you’re personally contributing to the greatness of the art. Even if it’s a small contribution, it’s still personally fulfilling. So, good looking out Kool Bob, I owe you big time for this one. Also, peace to DJ Clark Kent, Will from Nike, Carlos the contest winner and all the professional sneaker addicts out there.
