Adris “Too Hard To Guard” DeLeon
BOUNCE stopped by Thursday’s edition of Pro City at Hunter College to take in some game action and a few of our favorite playground ballers doing their thing.
Team Dyckman and the Uptowners was the first game played. In the minds of Pro City regulars this contest should’ve been an automatic win for Dyckman. The Uptowners have lost to them whenever they’ve met for the last few years, and many thought that streak would continue.
Last night, however, the record spun on Side B for a change. The heavily stacked Uptowners’ roster, which included Adris “Too Hard To Guard” DeLeon, Eugene Lawrence, Steve Burtt Jr. and Marvin McCullough, proved to be too much for the undermanned Dyckman. Even with the radar shooting of ex-Providence College point man Donnie McGrath, Dyckman lost 123-106.
Up next was Gold’s Gym vs. Primetime. On court for this one was two of our favorites, Adrian “Hollywood A” Walton and John “The Franchise” Strickland. To see these guys in action, swing by Nike Pro City League at Hunter College on 68th St. and Lexington Ave. every Tuesday and Thursday. Read where they rank among NYC’s elite streetball players in BOUNCE issue #11 and on our blog.
