New to the city landscape is the Reunion Games for Dyckman resident Jim Couch. Mr. Couch founded Dyckman Basketball in 1957. Dyckman’s own Kareem Abdul-Jabbar started out with him and currently through his program over 400 individuals have been steered to scholarship opportunities. The first game will jump off at 2:00 pm up in the Bronx. Check the 40-and-over run that will feature Easy Ed Pickney - Villanova National Champ and ex-Celtic along with other NYC pros and playground legends.
The second game will feature players that have worked out or played with Mr. Couch over the years. Look for Smush Parker, Andre Barrett, Alan Ray, Sebastian Telfair, Ryan Gomes, and Francisco Garcia. Playground legends Escalade, Franchise, Homocide, and DP will also play. Check for overseas talent like Texas Tech’s Kasib Powell, Chudney Gray, Kiki Clake, and Steve Burtt Jr. Expect a few surprises. Word is Nate Robinson could make an appearance as an invited ringer. Tickets are $25.00 for adults, $10 for teens and 12 and under are free. The game will help Mr. Couch’s program continue its educational focus in the New York City Community. Look for a day of giveaways courtesy of Bounce Magazine and an autographed Steph Marbury official game uniform for auction courtesy of the New York Knicks.

Player Update: For Jim Couch Reunion Game.
Gotta a call from SIB “MVP of Engelwood NJ’s UBL tourney” POWELL who tells me SEAN BANKS wants to get down for the Jim Couch Reunion Game. King of New York Mike CAMPBELL needs to report to my office and confirm his arrival for the game. JERRY “The General” MCCOLLOUGH will be in the house. Bring your kid just to watch his in-and-out dribble and compare it to ANTWAN “Anti-Freeze” DOBIE’S and decide which one is better.
